Technology
The Clark School District is a one-on-one device school, meaning that each student is provided with a device to support their learning journey. In our district, we have tailored this approach to best suit the unique needs of our students at different grade levels: iPads for elementary, Chromebooks for middle school, and laptops for high school. Additionally, for the current school year, we have contracted technology services through Expectec to enhance the learning experience.
We believe that technology plays a pivotal role in modern education, and this approach serves to prepare our students for success in a digital world. Here, we would like to emphasize the importance of technology in K - 12 education.
1. Enhancing Learning Opportunities: Technology opens up a world of resources and information at our students' fingertips. With their devices, they can access a wealth of educational content, interactive lessons, and digital libraries. This encourages self-directed learning, helping students develop research skills and curiosity.
2. Personalized Learning: Each student's educational journey is unique. With technology, we can tailor lessons to cater to individual needs, allowing students to progress at their own pace and explore their strengths and interests.
3. Preparation for the Future: We live in a digital age where technology is integral to nearly every aspect of life and work. By integrating technology into the classroom, we ensure that our students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter beyond their school years.
4. Collaboration and Communication: Technology facilitates collaboration among students, allowing them to work together on projects, share ideas, and connect with peers across the district and even globally. It also promotes communication between teachers, students, and parents, fostering a stronger support network.
5. Digital Citizenship: We take great care in teaching responsible and ethical technology use. This includes understanding online safety, respecting intellectual property, and being critical thinkers in the digital world.
Our commitment to providing these technology resources aligns with our mission to engage and educate each student academically and socially in order that he or she may reach their potential as a productive member of society. We will continue to work diligently to ensure that technology in our classrooms is not just a tool but a catalyst for creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
We encourage you to actively engage with your child's technology use by discussing their experiences, monitoring screen time, and being informed about the online platforms and content they encounter. Please take some time to review our district's device protection agreement and student pledge.
